Go West (Grand Central Terminal Sequence), Script, Nat Perrin and Irving Brecher, 1940

Go West was not the most successful Marx Brothers film done during their years with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), but over time it has developed a following.  Before filming began, the Marx Brothers performed portions of the script as a stage show in many vaudeville houses.

The prolific English playwright J.R. Planche first saw his version of this famous tale of love and acceptance by the Brothers Grimm produced at Covent Garden, London, in 1841.
