GUIDE TO THE JULIAN BLACK SCRAPBOOKS OF JOE LOUIS, 1935-1944, #2INTRODUCTIONThe Julian Black Scrapbooks of Joe Louis were donated to the National Museum of American History by Mrs. Julian Black in two separate donations: November, 1976 and September, 1977. The Division of Community Life accepted the scrapbooks as part of a larger, more complex collection of objects donated by Mrs. Black. The scrapbooks were transferred to the Archives Center in January, 1983. All of the scrapbooks have been reproduced on 304 microfiche and are available for purchase from Chadwyck-Healey, Inc., 1021 Prince Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314.
