Biography
Eleanor Linkous is a Smithsonian volunteer and baseball fan. She offered the items, which she
inherited from her aunt, to the Archives Center after attending a Smithsonian Associates event on
April 18, 2001, highlighting the Archives Center's baseball collections.
Scope and Content
The collection contains printed ephemera relating to professional sports in Washington, D.C.
Included are programs for four separate sporting events held in Washington, D.C., all at Griffith
Stadium. Three of the four items relate to baseball games, one to football. The scorecards in the
baseball programs are filled in. Also included are two ticket stubs to the 1956 All-Star Game and
some newspaper articles about that game.
