Hendrik Goltzius, 1558-1617
Adoration of the Magi
Engraving, 1594
Marsh Collection
Museum purchase, 1849

Goltzius's work is highly regarded for his command of the graver. Marsh formed his collection to represent the development of engraving, and he especially would have been attracted by Goltzius's skill in the technical expression of the engraved line.
